In the shop on the tourist station you can buy breakfast food, eg,sour milk , m&uouml;sli, milk, Nescafe, juice, sliced cheese. In the morning they have fresh baked bread. This make a good breakfast.

Alongside the tourist station is a nature center, buy the book "Alpine Flowers" there. Gives us the upstream, south of the highway and railway, the Abiskojåkka to search for Alpine Meadow-rue. The railway station is the same since the last visit (1989). Why Alpine Meadow-rue? A newly born has been given a name, and flower as the symbol of the name. The flower is the Alpine Meadow-rue. The blades are easy to recognize, find them soon. The specimen does not flower. Soon find more, which bloom. It is the right time. If one do not know it is easy to pass by without noticing it. Wander around among the rocks at the river's edge. Other flowers as Globeflower, Mountain Everlasting, mountain violets, Round-leaved Wintergreen. Much water in the rapids. At my previous visits have kunnit see holes in the rocks after stones that the water had to rotate and drill holes in the rocks. Today they are under water.

After lunch, we go downstream towards Torne Träsk. Following the eastern side of Abiskojåkka. In the beginning with steep slopes. Then along the water, on the path along the edge. Find some Silene wahlbergella Chowdhuri, Globeflower, buttercup and Alpine Bistort lining the river. Coming up to the river mouth.

Where it stops. Bird protection area with restricted access so this year. Take a path through the birch forest. A lemming is studying us. A spirited fearless creature. Lapporten peeping over the trees. Come to the road to the marina. Following it. At the marina is a nice view towards Lapporten. Dip the feet in the Torne Träsk. Cold, after a while it hurts in your feet.

A path leads along the lake to the river mouth. At the bird conservation area is a path that follows the border. Back on the trail along the Abiskojåkka. Strict primrose bloom. Back at the hostel. Eat eggs and bacon for supper.
