A journey that went to London, Stonehenge, and with walks in Wales
as the main purpose.
The pages are organized with descriptions/diaries and
pictures from the places we visited, and from the daily walks we did.
The photo album contains all the images.
The diary pages contain the pictures related to that diary page.
Going there - we travelled by car. First, to my friend A's
friends J and K who lives outside Hamburg.
Then by car via the ferry Calais - Dover to the first stop in the south of London.
London - a day devoted almost entirely to the natural history museum with the subject of our changing planet, its ecology, life's development, dinosaurs, fossils ....
Greenwich - by boat on the River Thames to the home of time,
with an interesting museum showing the effort to measure time and location at sea.
Also made a visit to the Maritime Museum.
Stonehenge - the world famous touristic monument from past times.
Tenby - a seaside town in south west Wales, and a coastal hike at Freshwater East.
Llwyngwril - about the journey to the small village where we stayed in
a cottage for a week, and which was a starting point for day trips.
Cadair Idris - a mountain in the southern part of the Snowdon national
park, whose highest point (Penygadair) is 893 meters high. We walked up on
the peak via the Minffordd Path.
Precipice walk - is a lowland hike along a steep slope.
Harlech - a city with an interesting castle ruin on a cliff.
Arthog walk - a lowland hike along a river estuary,
further up in a valley of pastures, at the end a steep descent at a brook.
Rhinog Fawr - a drive on a narrow road to Cwm Bycham, then a walk along
Roman steps, past the lake Llyn Du, up to the peak which is 720 meters high
and offers great views.
Aberdyfi - an easy coast/beach walk between Tywyn and Aberdyfi.
Going home - chaotic traffic outside London, and difficulties with today's technology in
an unstaffed hotel.
