September 7, 2018:
Abiskojaure - Alesjaure, 21 km
Surprisingly sleeps well despite full cabin.
Porridge for breakfast. Gets a long walk.
Start at nine o'clock. Going over the bridge.
Through mountain birch forest, slightly upwards.
Bridge over Siellajåkka.
Then steeper uphill in Kartinvagge up to the bare mountain.
A total of four hundred meters up.
Looks over the lake Apparjaure, the small lakes Miesakjaure and Ratojaure
and then along Alesjaure. Walked here in
1987
and partly in
1988.
Long ago, but still remember how it looked.
Gets well deserved breaks.
Recognizes several hikers from Abiskojaure cabin.
For lunch we have crispbread and muesli.
At Alesjaure there is a boat transport, but it ended on 31/8.
On the other side of Alesjaure is a modern same village.
The Alesjaure cabins can be seen from afar.
The walk on the slope towards the lake is light and flat.
We arrive at the cabins at five. Somewhat tired.
Bathing in the river Alesätno next to the cabins and the outlet in the lake.
Many like the sauna, not my big interest. Enough to have a cold bath.
Buy canned risotto in the shop for dinner.
lso freeze-dried to have in Tjäktja cabin (there is no store)
and also as a reserve. It is peacefull in the cabin, not many guests.
The sun goes down at eight.
The usual evening fun in a cabin is to discuss where you walked from
and walk to. Going out for a while at night, no northern lights.
